Facebook Predictions for the Year 2020

Everyone will agree with the fact that Facebook changed the face of social media. However, when Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook decided to issue public shares, many started evaluating the prospects of Facebook growth. Prior to its decision of initial public offering (IPO), a study pointed out that its phenomenal growth had started receding. The growing membership at 845 million active users on a monthly basis, which the company mentioned at the IPO prospectus, had slowed down. It meant that the company’s income had also begun effecting. It was the beginning many analysts believe was enough to predict something momentous about to change.

The initial public offering was stained with controversies. A big disappointment was felt on the first day of the closing bell when Facebook’s share price fell $3.82 from its opening bell value. Though, there was hype surrounding Facebook’s first sojourn into the stock market, yet, investors were taken aback partly due to Facebook’s policies and partly due to the change in the technological scenario.

How You Can Profit From Verizon In 2014 And Beyond

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ), which is a leading player in the US communications industry, has been in the news for its purchase of the 45% stake that Vodafone held in Verizon Wireless. Though widely supported by the street, some investors were worried as to whether the company would be able to cope with the huge amount of debt that had to be issued for the deal, especially since the growth in the telecom sector has not been robust and competitors are engaged in aggressive pricing.

However, it should be noted that interest rates are highly favorable for this move, and it should give the company additional firepower to deal with future challenges in the sector. Not only has the company raised its dividend for the 7th year in a row, its growth prospects appear bright, as well. Together, they should dispel any lingering doubts about the wisdom of the Vodafone deal or the company's ability to succeed in the short term.

Why 3M Will Continue To Outperform

3M Co. (NYSE:MMM), which is a, highly diversified company producing industrial products ranging from adhesives and abrasives to electronic circuits and optical films recently stunned the Wall Street by declaring a 35% increase in dividend along with massive share buyback plan. This naturally caused the 3M's stock to grow rapidly.
Image credit: birdigol / 123RF Stock Photo

The dividend hike also raised questions as to how the management could have declared such a massive rise on the back of steady but rather modest growth in the first three quarters of 2013. However, as we shall see below, the company's balance sheet and its own guidelines for 2014 provide some justification for management's enthusiasm.

Look to Johnson & Johnson for Dividends In 2014

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), is a leading player in the medical products field, has had a rather rough end to 2013 with growth slowing down and Q4 earnings and earnings estimates not being particularly exciting. This has led some investors to wonder whether following the good run the company has had for the major part of 2013 it is time to pull out on a high.
Image credit: outstyle / 123RF Stock Photo

However, the investor with an unfailing memory will recall that while JNJ does not pay its investors handsomely, it does so consistently. For those wondering if the quarterly growth trends will affect its ability to continue raising dividends the answer is as we shall see in the following analysis of the overall growth trends and other vital indices, "not much". These together make the idea of disposing JNJ stock appear quite unimaginative.

Diversification Is Key for PepsiCo in 2014 And Beyond

Pepsico, Inc. (NYSE:PEP), which is generally, known for its soft drinks and snacks businesses has been in the news for tying up with Buffalo Wild Wings (NASDAQ:BWLD) which will allow it to sell its drinks at the 975 outlets that the latter has. Considering the fact that the soft drinks market is in decline due to the changing consumer demands this deal should help the company offset the decline in revenue from falling sales.
Image credit: lightwise / 123RF Stock Photo

Not only this, company's highly diversified business means that even as soft drinks sales decline sales of snacks are on the rise. When these factors are considered along with PEP's attempts at expansion abroad, its performance in recent quarters and the perfect dividend history that it has, the company appears to be an excellent choice.

Financial investment what to expect in 2014

Let's start off by concluding that 2013 was a fantastic year for US stocks, with S&P's 500 index rising by close to 30%. So if you were among the majority who chose to invest in stocks, you ended up in the money. Those who chose to invest in commodities ended the year with an average loss of 8%.  So is it time to make a switch?

Image credit: copacool / 123RF Stock Photo

The gloomy prophecies of the skeptics that the equity bubble is about to burst have not been fulfilled, and while the fantastic profits of 2013 are just, not on the cards, there appears to be  no justification for a forecast of a change in the bullish market  which looks like continuing indefinitely. So it is inadvisable to put money there.

Is Ford Still a Buy at $15

Ford Motor Company (F) is a manufacturer of cars and trucks based in the United States. Its business is divided into two primary sectors: Automative and Financial Services. The company was founded by Henry Ford in 1903 and has been an American staple of a company ever since. The company sells motor vehicles under the Ford and Lincoln brand names, but also owns small stakes of Mazda and Aston Martin. Ford is currently the second largest U.S. based automaker and the fifth largest automaker in the world.
Image credit: hamsterman / 123RF Stock Photo

The Turnaround Story
Ford was one of the most talked about stories in 2008 with the major recession and bailout. The company was on the brink of bankruptcy but did not take the government bailout. Instead, they were able to push ahead and come out of the mess they were in on their own, and it proved to be successful. Today Ford is performing well, and growth continues to be in the near future for the company.

What to Expect From eBay in 2014

EBay Inc. (NYSE:EBAY), which is best known for its e-commerce platform eBay.com and its online payments gateway PayPal, has had a disappointing holiday season, with same-store sales lagging behind those of Amazon (AMZN). The company's performance has been generally poorer than Amazon's and falls short of industry growth.
Image credit: pixelsaway / 123RF Stock Photo

However, the company has also been in the news for acquisition of Braintree for its subsidiary PayPal. Though this will probably have no positive impact on eBay's indices for 2013, analysts generally agree that this will prove invaluable as the company seeks to tap into the growth of mobile payments. Further, eBay has been showing tremendous growth in international markets. These factors coupled with a decent balance sheet (though lagging behind industry growth as mentioned above) reflect that the company has ample growth potential going forward.

Breast Augmentation and the Costs Involved

There are many women out there who will want to have breast augmentation performed at the level of their bust mainly because they are not satisfied with what they have. I, for one, know at least three of my friends who are tempted to resort to this solution, but they are not prepared for the costs involved hearing that a surgeon will charge them an arm and a leg for it.

Image credit: quadshock / 123RF Stock Photo

While this is not the most expensive cosmetic procedure, there is, however, a large amount of money involved. So, I have done some inquiries here and there, and this is what I found:

Every New Year brings hope and desire to learn something different. You may have made countless New Year resolutions over the years, but this year could be different. And, it should be different. Can you make a living from domain flipping

Domain Flipping is no rocket science. It involves buying and selling of domains, and the profit and loss are determined by simple mathematical calculation. If you bought a domain for $ 100 and sold it for $ 150, then you pocket a profit of $ 50, and if the domain is sold for a price less than $ 100, then its a loss, as simple as that!

But the question arises, which domains would go for a profit and what is the risk factor involved in this business? First of all, not all domains are profitable. If you just buy lots of domains randomly, then chances are none of them would sell, and you will end up with a heavy loss. Therefore, its vital that you know what you are doing before you actually do the act!

Online Shopping for Your Clothes

A Useful Guide

Shall I be emphasizing the idea that online shopping is one of the most convenient way for purchasing products that are part of your wardrobe or any other accessories to go with it? It seems that online shopping for apparel has gained more popularity and, therefore, many famous brands can be purchased online regardless where you may be. Not to mention that whenever you have been too busy at work or at home attending daily tasks, you can just relax on your couch and start browsing for the apparel that you haven't had time to shop for.
Image credit: slena / 123RF Stock Photo

Once you finish your work, your kids are put to bed and you sip your glass of milk before going to bed, you can quietly relax and have a pleasant experience with online shopping for the needed clothing item. But with all these advantages there must come as well a price to pay and this price I am about to talk in this article.

How to Make Profit in Domain Flipping Business

Domain Flipping simply means trading with domains. Like any other trading, the idea is to buy domains and then to sell them at a profit. The success in this business lies in acquiring a domain which has the potential to make a profit and then to find a suitable buyer for it, who would be willing to pay you the price, you ask for the domain.

Domain flipping requires you to have sufficient knowledge about domains. Internet world has millions of domains and websites and not all of them make money. As a domain flipper, you should have an eye to identify a profitable domain from an ordinary one. Next comes the pricing factor. You should not get a domain with an abnormal price. Even if you are assured of making a profit from it, risking too much money in a domain could be fatal. Therefore, until and unless you are a super pro and know what you are doing, it’s better play the game safe and to move slowly and steadily with domain flipping business.

Ways to outsource for your growing company

In some cases, it may be very beneficial for a company to outsource some of its roles. This might be to fulfil a large contract, or to get an amazing niche product or service out onto the market before a competitor. New companies can benefit from outsourcing, as can small companies that may have bitten off more than they can chew.

Image credit: alexmillos / 123RF Stock Photo

Outsourcing has become more than just a cost cutting exercise; it is now about doing things more quickly, being more efficient, getting into the market faster than competitors, obtaining access to highly qualified workers without paying through the nose, and accessing a flexible workforce.

Putting your money in fast growing trend of e-cigarettes

Will it work out?

The use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) is growing at a fast pace when people are trying to quit smoking of conventional cigarettes due to its health hazards. The most important thing about e-cigarettes is not to burn tobacco but the atomizer in the e-cigarette converts liquid (containing nicotine) into a vapor when the user blow in the air from one side while using it. Nicotine, flavor and other chemicals coming out from the vapor are essentially harmless as compared to the cancer-causing toxins in regular cigarette smoke. That is the major reason of the popularity of e-cigarettes.
According to an article published on telegraph.co.uk, British American Tobacco PLC (BAT), the world’s 2nd biggest tobacco company, is planning to expand their market in United States and other European countries for their e-cigarette brand which is currently popularly known and sold as Vype e-cigarette in UK. According to Kingsley Wheaton, BAT’s director of corporate affairs, its quite natural for them to expand the market for their e-cig products when their company's annual reports revealed a fall in the volume sales of traditional cigarettes which they have been manufacturing for the addicted smokers.

Enhance your website to increase sales

The best way to enhance website sales is to pay attention to the needs, and desires of customers, explained the late, great Steve Jobs during a TV interview shortly before his passing. Jobs and other individuals and entities that helped pioneer the so-called digital age and culture regarded websites as being much more than just online company fact sheets. As a result, there is now a worldwide cyberspace industry that has been created to improve the sales effectiveness of both business and personal websites by boosting “hits” or favourable organic search results, thereby increasing visitor numbers and, as a result, the revenue generated by these sites.

Image credit: photoestelar / 123RF Stock Photo

The desired improvement in search engine ranking is now achieved by the posting of informative, highly relevant well-written copy by professional copywriters into websites. Search engine optimisation campaigns are also aided by the correct use of social media and Google Authorship.

Financial tips for a man on his first date

No one likes to think about finances when getting ready for the first date. Your mind is preoccupied with preconceived plans, wearing the right clothes, speaking the right words, and making sure you don’t offend her with your silly actions.

Image credit: ammentorp / 123RF Stock Photo

You may probably think about keeping enough cash in your pocket; however, there’s more to the whole drama. Your mindset in regard to finances, also says a lot about you. There could be a lot of money stashed somewhere inside the pocket, but your attitude means a lot.

Upcycled home office furniture

A how-to guide money saving tips

In a society where everything material is increasingly regarded as being disposable is not a healthy way of being kind to the environment. Although many people do now recycle - thanks to the number of local authorities providing recycling for items such as bottles, paper, cardboard, metal and many other items - it does seem that people will often dispose of things rather than considering another possible use for them.

Image credit: ajt / 123RF Stock Photo

Upcycling is creeping quietly into the consciousness of those who think they could do something better with their old furniture or possessions, and when it comes to revamping a home office it could be just the solution. Not only does it save on the amount of garbage being thrown away but it could also save a considerable amount of money on buying things such as new furniture. It’s also a lot more eco-friendly than disposing of everything and seeing half of it go to landfill.

Upcycling - ways to save money

With growing concern about the environment and the return of old maxims, such as ‘Make Do and Mend’, people now look forward to finding ways to save money, and be green at the same time. As a consequence, upcycling has become a popular new trend during 2013, enabling people to give their home a truly unique look.

Image credit: franckito / 123RF Stock Photo

Upcycling – what is it?

Not to be confused with recycling, upcycling is taking of old items that have fallen out of use or have served their original purpose, such as pieces of furniture or smaller items, and giving them a new function or appearance. A milk jug can, therefore, become an attractive vase, and a hardback book can be fixed to the wall to become a floating shelf.

A short guide to Bitcoin trading

Bitcoins have been the talk of the town since the arrest of Silk Road founder Ubricht by the FBI and the Senate hearings on crypto-currencies. Bitcoin, as this suggests, is a crypto-currency, which means it is a form of electronic exchange media that use encryption. Whereas almost all currencies use encryption for trading, the very existence of Bitcoin is based on complex cryptographic keys which ensure that there is no fraud. Put simply, Bitcoins are -

Learn to avoid the biggest interview mistakes

I faced a number of interviews, some of them were successful, and others were not. There was one extremely beneficial aspect though. Every interview taught me something unique. It helped me prepare to face my next interview even better. I was able to see my mistakes. I would go into a better position by alienating my weaknesses.

To succeed in interviews, one needs to present his or her best traits forward. Every person has weaknesses, it can’t be left out entirely. The sooner a person understands this fact; he will be in a better frame of mind while facing interviews. When I finally began interviewing candidates, my understanding of the psychology of a person facing interview turned a full circle. I looked at candidates and started analyzing their mind when they gave interviews, and then I found that, for some, it is never easy, sitting on a chair and answering a barrage of questions thrown at them.

Retirement savings what Indians do with gold

Retirement savings has never been a hard decision for Indians. For ages, it has always been the gold. If I look back and saw my relatives and friends, many preferred to keep gold at their homes, in some form. Women, in particular, will buy jewelleries and keep in the locker, believing that it will come good if they need money in times of crisis. Even those who live in urban India did the same. Imagine what the rural India did with gold. Though, times have changed now, and more investment arms have cropped up, yet, gold remains the best investment bucket for most Indians.
It is still considered as the best retirement investing option. Such has been the affinity for Gold among Indians that people have imported more that 800 tonnes of gold in just one year, in the year 2012-13. The finance ministry feels that high imports of gold have also played a role in affecting the current financial situation. As a result, the current account deficit has increased, perhaps more due to gold imports.

Resolving Your Money Problem like Jim Carrey

Not having enough money is certainly a problem for many. But oftentimes, the real problem lies with your own ideas about money. Financial discontent is not uncommon among many members of the working class—even the world’s handful of millionaires faces their own money problems.

Regardless of how much you are making, there’s a tendency to spend more often than you should be. In that regard, the key to your money problem is quite simple: spend less. Learn to live within your means. The billion-dollar question is how is it possible to be able to do that in a world where we are encouraged to want more and to yearn for more.

Image credit: birdigol / 123RF Stock Photo

If you are serious about putting your personal money matters in order, if you are truly determined to get out of debt… you’d have to do a major mindset and attitude overhaul. And one way to begin is through visualization. Let’s look at an example in one popular story often shared about Hollywood celebrity Jim Carrey.

Why sometimes the best employee never becomes a great manager

You may have come across many individuals who have gained the reputation as best employees in their respective organizations, but when promoted to become the boss of their unit, they failed to deliver results. My experience as a sales and marketing guy helped me to see such employees from close quarters. Some of the guys were too strong in marketing and selling products, and they turned up decent results with their sheer hard work. And then the review process was put in place. The management decided that three of us should be made team leaders.

Image credit: viewstock / 123RF Stock Photo

It was a great day for us. We partied together to celebrate our success. Even before a month passed away, I could see that one among us was facing a tough time to manage his guys. We were close, and it hurt me to see him suffer. His boys were not responding to him as well as he would like them to. Secondly, he was not able to obtain expected results. He came to me for  advice. Though, I couldn’t answer anything to him then, but I thought long, and then saw what he missed.

Eurozone Crisis why and what must be done

While most of our attention has been focused on Greece and its massive debt problem, those keeping a keen eye on the world of business know that, in fact, the whole of Eurozone, is facing a serious challenge to its sheer existence. Although some states, like Germany for instance, emerge better equipped in facing the Eurozone crisis with its low inflation and high productivity, a majority of states face severe challenges in retaining the common currency that was created by a landmark agreement in 1992. Today, a huge majority of Europe's people and businesses use the Euro since it is used not only in the 17 member countries which are officially part of the Eurozone, but also many EU (and some non-EU) nations who have signed treaties with the Eurozone countries or have adopted the currency unilaterally so as to be part of the biggest monetary bloc in the world.

The origins of this crisis are complex, with no agreement on when or where it exactly began. However, it does have some clear cut components -
