Breast Augmentation and the Costs Involved

There are many women out there who will want to have breast augmentation performed at the level of their bust mainly because they are not satisfied with what they have. I, for one, know at least three of my friends who are tempted to resort to this solution, but they are not prepared for the costs involved hearing that a surgeon will charge them an arm and a leg for it.

While this is not the most expensive cosmetic procedure, there is, however, a large amount of money involved. So, I have done some inquiries here and there, and this is what I found:

* Breast augmentation procedure is performed under two types of implants of which patients need to choose: the silicone implants and the saline ones. The first option will take out of your pocket around $1,500 to $2,000 while the saline implants will require less, around $1,000. One other addition: the shape of the implants will as well influence the costs of this procedure.

* Another factor that has its own word to say about influencing the costs is the kind of anesthesia used for having this procedure completed. So, you have to choose whether you want a local anesthesia or a general one. The first option is less expensive than the later one. Most of the times, patients will look for general anesthesia because they know that is more comfortable for their breast augmentation procedure.

* Now you have to know that there are other costs to add to this cosmetic surgery, such as the fees charged for operating room, and so on and so forth. Breast augmentation can reach the amount ranging between $3,000 and $7,000. So, it is up to you to decide which implants you want and keep in mind that this procedure is not covered under any health insurance policy.
